AAMC's Summer Undergraduate Research Program		Provides links to summer research programs at universities, medical centers and med schools throughout the country.
NSF's REUs		Provides links to all of National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), sorted by research interest area, but searchable by keyword or location.
SHPEP		Summer Health Professions Education Program - SHPEP (formerly known as Summer Medical and Dental Education Program - SMDEP) is a FREE (full tuition, housing, and meals) six-week summer academic enrichment program that offers freshman and sophomore college students intensive and personalized medical and dental school preparation. Their goal is to help provide academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions.
Certified Nurses' Aide		Provides information regarding certification as a Nurses' Aide in Indiana.
Emergency Medical Services		Provides information about training in Emergency Medical Services in Indiana through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security's website.
Volunteering Abroad
AAMC's Guidelines for Overseas Volunteering		The purpose of volunteering is not to practice medical techniques, but to observe them. These guidelines will clarify the ethical boundaries regarding patient care that the AAMC urges you to bear in mind when participating in overseas volunteering programs.
Child Family Health International		Offering internships and global health "intensives", CFHI coordinates students and health professionals working at the grassroots level to provide community health projects and Global Health Education Programs. Over 20 programs in 7 countries.
Choice Humanitarian		The organization coordinates volunteer expeditions to initiate self-sustaining humanitarian projects in developing nations. Be sure to explore their site thoroughly; they have specific information about internships.
Direct Relief International		A non-sectarian medical relief organization, has information on health programs and disaster relief services.
Peace Corps		The Peace Corps is typically quite happy to accept applicants with pre-med backgrounds. Note that the program gives only a little latitude for preference in third-world placements, and requires a 27-month commitment.
